Established in 1992, the Jewish Community Organization (JCO) of Northern Bergen County is a local not-for-profit, registered 501(c)(3) organization based in the Saddle River Valley. Through philanthropy, community outreach and social gatherings, the JCO raises much needed monies for local and national charities. We currently have over 100 members from the Saddle River and Pascack Valleys including: Upper Saddle River, Saddle River, Ridgewood, Montvale, Woodcliff Lake, River Vale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Mahwah and Allendale.
Proceeds from our events are given to local and national charities, such as: Haiti Relief Fund, Meals on Wheels, Center for Food Action, Make-A-Wish New Jersey, Jewish Family Services, Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, Habitat for Humanity, Benjamin’s Lighthouse, Shelter Our Sisters, Autism Speaks, Spoil Me Pink, CASA for Children, the Bergen County YJCC, and the Upper Saddle River Community (including the PTO, Upper Saddle River Educational Foundation, DARE, and the Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Corps).
In addition to raising funds, we have also collected food for a local pantry; collected toys for children during the holidays; donated thousands of gifts for the elderly at local nursing homes; sponsored a spin-a-thon to raise money for Japan after the earthquake; and participated in building a home with Habitat for Humanity.
Since its inception more than 20 years ago, the JCO has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities across the nation and right in our own backyard. Our goal continues to be to help those in need, always believing that together, we can make a difference
