On March 16th, over 70 women attended the JCO’s Style Edit and Beauty Bar event. The ladies’ night out was filled with shopping, complimentary beauty treatments, raffle prizes, small bites and of course a good cause! Event proceeds will be donated to JDRF and other community charities!
JCO Partners with Healthbarn Foundation, Healing Meals
Several JCO and “junior” JCO members helped partner with Healthbarn Foundation, Healing Meals, to prepare nutritious meals for children and their families with serious medical issues.
The participants really enjoyed cooking and packaging meals as part of this food gifting program. The smiling faces learned about nutrition first hand, while simultaneously doing good deeds for those in need.
We look forward to another similar event in the near future!
JCO and Make-A-Wish Foundation hold 4th annual fundraiser
On Friday, February 3rd, over 70 women gathered together at a member’s home in Montvale for the JCO’s 4th annual Make-A-Wish Luncheon. We were privileged to have Mayor Minichetti of Upper Saddle River, Mayor Ghassali of Montvale and Gabrielle Peterson of Make-A-Wish New Jersey in attendance, and each shared their heartfelt sentiments with the attendees. Each year, in conjunction with Make-A-Wish New Jersey, the JCO adopts the wish of a child from Bergen County with a life-threatening illness. This year’s wish recipient was a 9 year old boy named Christian, who wishes to go to Greece to visit his grandparents.
This luncheon could not have been possible without all those who helped make Christian’s wish come true. We extend our sincere gratitude to those that donated food and other goodies: All Seasons Landscaping and Design, Greek City, Greek Corner Grill, Jim & Tena Makris, Stateline Diner, The Taub Family, Uncle Guiseppes, Party Rental Ltd., Serve It Up!, Lineup and Tic Tac Etc. Additionally, a very special thank you to the three outstanding schools that participated in our “Your Change=A Life Changed” initiative: Memorial School of Montvale, Solomon Schechter Day School and Upper Saddle River Children’s Academy.
Since the inception of the luncheon, the JCO has granted 4 individual wishes and has raised over $40,000 for these amazing young children.
